CHIROPRACTIC

Chiropractic is the practise of diagnosing and treating 'mechanical' dysfunction associated with the bones and skeletal form as a whole. It is performed by a chiropractor who will, using his / her hands, identify the placement of bones and associated ligaments in your body and determine if they are misaligned. If they are misaligned, bones can be manipulated by hand to return them to their correct position.

Misaligned bones and ligaments are a common cause of discomfort and pain. One of the most notable areas where misaligned bones result in problems is in the lower back. Here, individual vertebrae can become incorrectly positioned, especially if the intervertebral discs have been strained and swollen.

Much of the chiropractor's work is performed on the spine. A chiropractor will use their hands to manually adjust back joints and re-align them so they do not affect surrounding nerves, for it is misaligned bones affecting the nervous system that is the root cause of a lot of back pain.

All chiropractors in the UK must be registered with the General Chiropractic Council to be lawfully able to offer chiropractic services. Chiropractic is very safe and suitable for men and women of all ages. Even babies can benefit from the service.
