dentistry
Dentists offer a wide range of care options to enable us to protect our teeth and gums from disease. Regular check-ups are an essential part of the service provided by dentists and something that we should all take advantage of - even if we have false teeth!
Dentists are professionally trained people who are well-versed in oral care. They can keep an eye on our teeth and gums, and also advise us on general mouth care. When problems are identified they will recommend solutions that are a lot less painful than many other types of surgery we could have performed on our bodies. If they see the potential for a problem to arise they can alert us and advise us on a course of preventative action so avoiding the need for dental surgery on those troublesome areas in the future.
Dentistry services available at NHS dental practices include basic repairs to the teeth such as fillings. They can also perform more complex treatments, although some will refer you to private practices where a wider range of treatments may be available. If your need is for cosmetic dentistry you will almost certainly have to go to a private dentist.
