Personal trainer

Training alone is tough on the body and mind. Using a personal trainer to help motivate and spur you on to new levels of fitness is essential if you are seriously committed to exercise. Every athlete has a coach to help them; a personal trainer will be your coach, helping you to achieve your goals through guidance on optimal training techniques and related fitness issues such as nutrition and diet, as well as being a source of motivation for you.

Personal trainers are available as independent trainers or as employees of a gymnasium. Independent personal trainers can meet you at a gym or training facility of your choice, or can provide instruction in a home gym. If you are meeting an independent personal trainer for the first time it is best to meet in a public place such as your local gym reception. You should ask to see evidence of their qualifications and training experience - all professional independent personal trainers will be happy to do this for you.

If you already visit a gym or are thinking of starting up a membership at a gym then you could use a personal trainer that is already attached to that gym. Many gymnasiums offer personal trainer assistance when you sign up with them, and some make it compulsory to be accompanied by a personal trainer on your first visit so you can be shown how to use the gym equipment safely.
