A lot of people think that the best way to relax after a stressful day is to take a trip to the beauty spa or skin clinic . Let’s face it – there are not too many of us who don’t like to be pampered. The only downside is that most of us lead busy lives and can’t find the time to go often. Other factors may be money since a lot of us are on a tight budget. You can unwind at home without the hassle or expensive of going to a spa. Taking care of our body is the ultimate way to a beautiful self, inside and out.

My favorite way to unwind at home after a long day is to have a foot soak. I use a small foot tub (you can get them at any beauty store) and add warm water along with salts and body oil. I let them soak for about half an hour and then rinse them with cool water and dry with a towel. Afterward, I will use a pumice stone or scrubber to remove dead skin or calluses. The final step is to buff them with a foot file to avoid any dead skin left over.

Another way that I like to relax at home is to lounge in a warm, bubbly bath. I always add a few drops of lavender oil into the water. It has a very calming effect and relaxes the body. Of course, I always add some some other key things to bath time that make it all come together. A glass of red wine, some soothing background music are all great after a long day. A great bath cleanses your body as well as your soul. It is the perfect way to wind down after a long day.
